At CxO Analytics, our journey began with a simple but powerful question: Why?

An investment banking firm was struggling to understand why they had only received one offer for the sale of a $168 million B2B services company.

Part of the answer lay with these other whys: The company doubled in size the previous year, but why – a growing industry or at competitor expense? Why didn’t the company’s financial reporting system and analytics show the true financial health of the company?  Why didn’t the investment banking firm’s own analysis on the company bring up any issues?

Our data and forward-looking analysis answered all these whys and more. The company had no choice, they had to sell. With only one secure bid, it left the founder with uncertainty – was there enough to retirement or would he have to start over.
